Typical Graduation Setup
We will work with you on your specific event needs. Our standard setup includes two cameras: one primarily for close shots following the center of attention, and the other for wide shots. We optionally offer a third camera to capture entrance processions from the front. We run wired microphones from the podium(s) and stage area directly to our cameras for optimal sound quality. We also take a feed of the house audio from your existing sound reinforcement system, when available.
We are happy to accommodate events in outdoor venues. We bring extra cables and power cords for large outdoor setups, as well as backup equipment for a last minute venue change if the weather is threatening. We use polarizing filters on our lenses to ensure the quality of the video in sunny conditions. If it starts to rain during your event, we have full rain protection so that there is never any interruption when the umbrellas come out.
Graduation Video Options
In addition to recording and/or live streaming your ceremony, we offer behind-the-scenes videography using a handheld camera. This can include footage of the graduates arriving, putting on their caps and gowns, and having their class photos taken. We can also casually interview the graduates about their feelings on this momentous occasion. After the event, we get additional footage of your after-party, capturing the hugs and well wishes from families and friends.
Why Live Stream a Graduation?
If you have an overflow audience, we may be able to help. We can do a live stream directly to your overflow location so that the event can be viewed onsite in another venue. We can also live stream to the internet to bring your event to elderly family members, relatives and friends living abroad, or anyone else in the community who is unable to attend in person. Our clients find that this is an excellent tool for alumni engagement.
